hepatitis b formally called serum hepatitis is the inflammation,and swelling of the liver. we have various types of hepatitis namely hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E. but of all this types, it is the hepatitis b that is the most commonest in our part of the world.

hepatitis B comes in two forms, the acute and the chronic one. the acute is when it is detected immediately it gets into the body system. and with this, it can be cleard when medication is taken immediately. with the chronic, it lived on in the body system for long and this can be a result of the acute infection.

hepatitis B unlike other or any other disease does not have any symptoms peculiar with it. the carriers of this disease only experience normal malaria signs like headache, vomiting, lost of appetite among others. you only experience signs like blotted Tommy and jaundice at it's extreme stage and if care is not taken, it will result to deaths.

this silent killer is also a transmitted disease, then it can be gotten from body fluids like saliva and vaginal secretion, it can also be contracted from urine, feces and blood transfusion. the greatest enemy of this disease is alcohol, and so many carriers are ignorant of this.

DR. BOAKYE YIADOM of KORLE BU teaching hospital says mos of the death of this disease happens at home , hence the hospital seldom record cases of deaths as a result of the disease.

so it is very obvious so many ignorant people are dieing as a result of this and nothing is done. for this reason, i will like to appeal to the mass media to intensify education on this deadly disease. so that people will vaccinate against it. for there is a saying that prevention is better than cure.
